The questions, one by one

Do the day of entry and the day of exit both count?

Yes, both, in full. The time of day makes no difference.

It is the smallest question of all and the most expensive. A weekend is not “almost two days”: it is two full days.

The weekend that costs two days

You land on a Friday at 23:40 and fly home on Saturday at 07:00. You have been in the country for about seven hours. The counter records two days.

The hour plays no part in either direction: there are no half days, no proportions, and no courtesy margin.

Ten short trips a year

Applied to ten short trips, the misunderstanding can cost twenty of the ninety days: nearly a quarter of the allowance, lost to a counting rule nobody explains at the airport.

It is also the number one reason why people's own count does not match the official calculator's.
