Paperwork for foreign owners in Ciudad Quesada

You are looking for Quesada town hall. There isn't one.

Ciudad Quesada is an urbanisation within the municipality of Rojales, in the province of Alicante. It has roundabouts, a golf course, shops and thirty thousand homes — but no town hall of its own: yours is the one in Rojales.

We are in Rojales. Here we come in person.

What catches people out here

The name misleads, and it misleads a lot of people. Ciudad Quesada is called a city, works like a town and shows up on the satnav as one, but administratively it is an urbanisation inside Rojales. Every municipal formality — padrón, licences, refuse, certificates — is done at Rojales town hall, and every official notice carries that municipality, not the name of the urbanisation.

There are two practical consequences. First: searching for “Ciudad Quesada town hall” leads nowhere, and that is the commonest wasted afternoon of the newly arrived owner. Second: we are in Rojales, which is to say inside your own municipality. We do not drive here. We walk.

Questions about this service

So is my house in Quesada or in Rojales?

Both, and there is no contradiction: Ciudad Quesada is the address, Rojales is the municipality. On any official form the municipality is Rojales, province of Alicante.

Does that change anything for the modelo 210 or for holiday letting?

Not for the modelo 210: that is a national return handled by the tax agency, not by the town hall. Not for holiday letting either, because Rojales is in the Valencian Community and the register is the regional one. What it does change is which municipal counter you go to, and under which name they look you up.
