Pilar de la Horadada is the southernmost municipality of the Valencian Community. The border with the Region of Murcia is a kilometre away, and with it changes the authority responsible for almost everything to do with your property.

What catches people out here
A kilometre south begin San Pedro del Pinatar and San Javier, which are Murcia. The beach looks the same, the signs look the same and the neighbours know one another, but the holiday-let register is not the same: in Pilar de la Horadada it is the Tourism Register of the Valencian Community, and a kilometre away it is the Register of Tourism Businesses and Activities of the Region of Murcia.
The expensive mistake is a literal one: the owner asks a neighbour ten minutes down the road, follows the advice to the letter, and files with the wrong administration. Here, the autonomous community is the first thing to check, before anything else.

By the municipality on your deed and on your IBI bill, not by what you can see from the terrace. If it says Pilar de la Horadada, you are Valencian Community, province of Alicante.
Does anything change for the modelo 210?
No. The modelo 210 is a national return filed with the tax agency everywhere in Spain; the autonomous community plays no part. What changes at the border is the tourism register and the regional rules that come with it.
